The Short Process for Recycling and Pollution Control of Waste Ternary Lithium Batteries Successfully selected for the 2023 National Catalogue of Advanced Pollution Control Technologies (for Solid Waste and Soil Pollution Control).


Recently, the technology independently developed by Quzhou Huayou Resource Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. — the short process for recycling and pollution control of waste ternary lithium batteries — was successfully selected for the "once every three years" 2023 National Catalogue of Advanced Pollution Control Technologies (for Solid Waste and Soil Pollution Control) (hereafter referred to as the "Catalogue"). In the field of ternary lithium battery recycling, only two companies nationwide were selected for this national-level demonstration technology in the solid waste pollution control domain.

It is understood that the "Catalogue" is issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, closely aligning with the focus areas of environmental pollution treatment for the year, featuring technologies that have been proven through engineering practice to have an advanced level of technology, significantly improve the environment, and are economically feasible for pollution control. Being selected as a demonstration technology indicates advanced metrics, good governance results, innovation, and essentially achieving the level of practical engineering application, offering advanced governance technology references for relevant companies and management departments.

The short process for recycling and pollution control of waste ternary lithium batteries is based on a project under the Ministry of Industry and Information's technology renovation and upgrading guidance plan undertaken by Quzhou Huayou Resource Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. It is suited for the field of waste ternary lithium battery recycling and utilization, characterized by an integrated treatment process for the entire chain of waste ternary lithium batteries, high recovery rates of metals such as nickel, cobalt, manganese, lithium, and the high quality of recycled products. Assessed by a team of academicians and experts, the project's technology has reached an international leading level. Currently, this technology has been widely applied in the recycling and utilization of waste ternary lithium batteries and its wastewater and exhaust gas environmental management, achieving the recycling of resources such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, and securing good social, environmental, and economic benefits.
